Nutritious food has a great impact on health, but access to healthy food is not always easy for families. Some people only have easy access to convenience stores and fast food, places that often don’t sell fresh produce or healthy options.
Cleveland Clinic nurses and the Langston Hughes Community Health & Education Center are sponsoring a project to provide monthly trips to West Side Market to help overcome transportation and access barriers to nutritious foods. Participants will be provided a ride to the market, a gift card to purchase healthy food, and access to a cooking demonstration and education. All funds raised will support efforts to improve the health of the neighborhoods served by the Langston Hughes Community Health & Education Center. Your gift will improve access to healthy food options and help our nurses care for the neighborhood.
The Langston Hughes Community Health and Education Center is on East 79th Street
