Help us provide FREE wigs for cancer patients!
What if you could make a direct impact on a cancer patient’s quality of life?
Every dollar donated to the Wig Boutique goes directly towards purchasing a free wig or other (or hat or bandana) for a cancer patient receiving treatment at Cleveland Clinic.
For many, dealing with hair loss during cancer treatment is traumatic. When you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, your sense of self feels threatened. And when your appearance changes along with your physical health, it can be difficult to feel strong – and authentically you – in your own body.
It’s the psycho-emotional side of cancer that people don’t talk about much.
But treating cancer “is about mind, body and soul,” says Margaret Rose Giltinan, a breast cancer survivor who received care at Cleveland Clinic.
She decided to fund a program that would help other patients like her access free wigs and salon services right in the cancer center. Her gift established the wig boutique.
“I know people who can embrace the baldness, which is great,” says Margaret. “But I was not that way. I felt that people would treat me differently when they saw me without hair.
Wearing a wig however, gave me a sense of normalcy; it made me feel more like “myself” at a pretty low point in my life.
Your donation will help purchase much-needed wigs and other accessories for cancer patients. Please help by donating confidence back to a patient.
Every gift makes a difference!
