Thank you!

November 17, 2017

Thank you to all who gave to our crowdfunding project for the Physician Diversity Scholars Program!

Together we raised $5,705 to assist our scholars with the expenses of medical school.

October 30, 2017

Thank you for your generosity in support of this important program that pairs underrepresented minority medical students with underrepresented minority physicians.  The money you donated goes directly to helping offset the cost of medical education for these future physicians.

We are at 94% of our goal, and we could not have come this far without your gift.  If you know other people who might find this project as important and transformative as you have, please feel free to share the link with them.

Thank you again for your commitment to creating a diverse and representative physician workforce.

Twenty Percent Club

Our goal is to increase underrepresented minority graduates among the OU-HCOM class to 20% by 2020. The national average is just 12%.

Mission Tuition

Tuition at OU-CHOM is approx. $35,584 a year. Each gift made to the Physician Diversity Scholars Program helps to offset the cost of tuition for a promising student passionate about serving and improving the health of the community.

Textbook Champion

According to the College Board, the average annual cost of books for a college student ranges from $850 to $1,000. Help our students access the resources they need to thrive.

Improving Health for All

OU-HCOM students are trained to address the various factors that influence health - from nutrition to economic stability to education - to improve health and wellness in our most under-served neighborhoods.

Platinum Sponsor

The Association of American Medical Colleges reports that the average medical school debt balance for graduating physicians in 2015 was $183,000. This is a substantial barrier to students from underprivileged backgrounds and with an interest in Primary Care, which typically yields lower lifetime earnings. Your support helps to reduce this burden for students who want to spend their careers improving the health of the communities they serve.
