Community Baby Showers
"It takes a village..."
All babies deserve to reach their first birthday. However, too many of our most vulnerable are not reaching this milestone. Infant mortality rates in Ohio are among the highest in the nation, and Cleveland lags even further behind the state with a rate of 8.7 (out of 1,000 life births). As a healthcare leader, Cleveland Clinic has a responsibility to address this public health crisis. We ask you to join us in this fight so all babies in our community can celebrate their first birthday.
Community Baby Showers are one way we are serving our community and promoting a healthy start for moms and their infants. These events serve as an opportunity to work with community partners, and provide a unique and fun setting for prenatal education. With a focus on infant safety, Community Baby Showers serve as a critical venue to share the ABCs of safe sleep (Alone, Back, Crib), and ensure that women have the items they will need for their infants to stay safe at home and in the car, including pack-n-plays, sleep sacks, diapers, baby carriers, and car seats.
We are grateful to the Reinberger Foundation for joining our village. Through their generous seed gift, they are realizing their mission to "help underserved individuals move toward self-sufficiency." The Reinberger Foundation continues to show their commitment to all of our community's babies, as we work together to lower infant mortality rates in Cleveland.
Will you also embrace the smallest among us and empower each mom to give her infant a healthy, happy start in life? With a generous gift, you, too, can be a part of our village.
